Teaching & Academic Management

Teaching and Learning at Undergraduate & Graduate Level

Teaching and Learning

One of the most fascinating aspects and challenges of modern undergraduate and graduate education is connected to fundamental questions of effective, student-centred, outcome-oriented teaching and life-long learning. Please find here, in an admittedly unstructured and unsystematic way, some of the examples of my teaching at Vesalius College in line with what we understand as "Theory-Guided, Practice-Embedded and Experiential Learning" (TPEL). For some thoughts on educational aspects, please visit my Blog space.
Academic Management

I reflect from time to time here in a rather informal  blog format about some of the recurring and key issues related to academic management and institutional reform. Having had the honour of serving as Head of Department of International Affairs from 2012 - 2014 and now since 2014 as the overall Dean of Vesalius College in an exciting phase of strategic re-orientation, I am particularly interested in questions related to the 'future of the university', the 'innovative university' and how to link liberal arts education to a practice-oriented and ethics-guided perspective  in a context.
