Think Tank Work and Policy Advice

In synergy with my academic research I have also been involved in various think tanks work. Currently, I serve on the Board of the Global Governance Institute (GGI) in Brussels as as well as the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism (ICCT) in The Hague.

My work with International Organisations and National Ministries

I have advised the European Commission (DG Research & Ethics Review Committee), the European Parliament, the French Ministry of Defence, the German Foreign Ministry, UK's DFID, the UN DPKO's partnership unit and the UN's Liaison Office for Peace & Security (UNLOPS) as well as the Standby High Readiness Brigade for UN Operations. Policy-Oriented Research Projects

Past policy-oriented research projects included comparative analyses of Command and Control approaches of the EU, NATO and UN, the issue of "Europe's Return to UN Peacekeeping', the History and Track-record of UN Peacekeeping, Cooperation between the EU and GCC, Germany and Rapid Reaction in Peacekeeping as well as how to improve cooperation between International Organisations.
